Macedon, N.Y. (WHAM) – Multiple cows died in a large fire that engulfed a barn in Macedon on Tuesday.
The barn is located near the intersection of Canandaigua Road and Route 31.
Macedon, N.Y. (WHAM) – Firefighters responded to a house fire early Friday morning in Macedon. A member of the fire department says a passerby saw smoke coming from the roof of the home on West Walworth Road and called it in. The owners are on vacation but were notified over the phone. The home is considered a total loss.
Deputies say 12-year-old Conrad Button and his grandmother, 84-year-old Mary Button were killed in an early morning house fire Tuesday on Ellsworth Road in the Town of Farmington. Conrad was a student in the Palmyra-Macedon district. Deputies say they will have crisis teams available at school.
Fire officials are investigating to determine why a furnace exploded in a Wayne County home Tuesday morning. The homeowner was inside the two-story home at 2249 Wilcox Road in Macedon when the explosion occurred around 9:45 a.m., said Joe Sirianno, first assistant fire chief of the South Macedon Fire Department.
Palmyra, N.Y. – One body has been found inside a home that burned overnight in Palmyra.
Crews were called to a home on Prospect Drive near Mill Street around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday by a neighbor. Police pulled the body of a man out more than three hours later.
